Are You Even Qualified to Start a Podcast?
If you wanted to start a podcast for your small business, what makes you think you’re even qualified to do it? Let’s talk about it; literally.
When it comes to your business and the market your serve, understand you ARE a subject matter expert. You provide tremendous value based on your knowledge and experience. You already know more than most people about the services and products you offer (I’ll come back to that point in a minute).
I’m Jim Ray and this is Episode 5 of the Business Case for Podcasting video series.
Podcasting and podcast content is an excellent way to create Brand Awareness and to influence Brand Positioning.
Podcasting has inherent advantages over traditional, marketing content. Many people simply either don’t want to read – or don’t have the time to do it.
To deal with this, business owners and marketers are forced to limit the length of their articles, blogs and even videos. You have to leave out a lot of really valuable information.
When you create an audio podcast episode, you get the opportunity to produce long-form content as a conversation; maybe it’s by yourself or with 1 or 2 of your colleagues. You now have a platform to DEMONSTRATE the knowledge and experience that actually makes you a subject matter expert.
Better yet, when you implement a custom-branded podcast for your small business, you have the option of creating silos of context-rich information. You can separate discussions about specific services and products into specific episodes. You can add more and more discussions, overtime. That depth and breadth of content is valuable to your target market AND powerful information for Google.
So, think about it. Podcasting leverages your knowledge and experience. It demonstrates your deep-understanding AND episodes can create layers upon layers of information for your website, social media marketing channels and Google.
You ARE a subject matter expert. You’re More than qualified to launch a podcast. I’m Jim Ray and that sounds like a solid Business Case for Podcasting.
Remember, when it comes to your small business or practice, you’ve earned the right to tell a great story. I simply make sure more people get to hear it!
Thanks for listening.
